Third night trying WILD. i've had lucid dreams randomly before. Today was first successful WILD.
chronologically:
relaxed and focused on random imagery. nothing meaningful was appearing just random patterns of light and artifacts.
First stage of lucidness: Sonic hallucinations.
First hipnagogic hallucinations were sonic. somehow i tuned in to a cb radio like transmission. communicating among themselves. they were describing the appearance of a convict (convict probably an artifact from another dream) started asking questions through the cb radio. slowly got responses directed specifically at me.
strange feeling, very limited lucidity, no dreams or visuals yet.
During this stage i did try to move and 'explore' this place, but there was no 'place' yet, when i tried to move my limbs or talk, i could experience my sleep paralysis, meaning my brain was still trying to command my real limbs.
only remarkable detail about my cb radio like transmission was that the letter 'C' works best for communicating with them. (i know makes no sense, but it was well established in the hallucinations)
after trying to participate in the conversation and listening in for a while, i felt more relaxed, maintained focus.
First Attempt Failure:
while focusing on the sound, i didn't realize a picture frame appeared in front of my eyes, i couldn't tell how long it had been there before i noticed it.
this gave me a false awakening as i assumed i had my eyes opened and it was the picture in front of my bed. However to my surprise, i tried to blink and move but felt trapped. This triggered my acknowledgement that i was still sleeping. i didn't try to wake myself up, although i felt like i could have.
Feeling of Panic:
after the picture frame appearance, i relaxed back down, and waited for something to happen.
All of the sudden i felt like i was falling backwards rapidly and i felt like i was falling to my death. i panicked, however still in my conscious mind i realized i was fully falling asleep and in an instant the panic feeling changed to an adrenaline rush, similar to experiencing a drop in a roller coaster. (it still triggered some panic response, but i was enjoying it)
I let myself fall backwards freely and maintained focus.
similarly to the picture frame, a visual appeared in front of me, this time it was not a picture frame it was a location. Imagine a still frame from a movie where the camera is up in the corner of the room and all you can see is some sort of pillar and a hall and a couple of doors that lead to other rooms.
This visual appeared out of the blue and like the picture frame i didn't know how long it had been there before i noticed it.
Second Attempt: Success:
staring at this new 'scenery' i examined the surfaces, the more i paid attention to details of this strange hall, and pillar the more vivid it became. (i can recall the vibrant texture pattern on the pillar)
after observing this for a little while, i reached out to the pillar with my arms. to my surprise, i saw limbs come out (my mind's arms and legs) and grab the pillar and slide down it, just like that i was fully immerse and fully lucid in this dream room.
Setting and exploration: mirror found!
the room itself was small, and i didn't explore or do much in there, i climbed, the walls and levitated a little bit, i rubbed my hands together to keep from waking. the room was empty, nothing to interact with, although i did find a room which first i saw my whole body reflexion out of the corner of my eye and thought to myself avoid the mirror since it may wake me up. however out of curiosity and because i had read that mirrors are one type of reality checks, i walked towards the mirror to check it out.
the mirror reflection was in fact myself, although the reflection was clear, my face was a little distorted. specially my mouth/teeth looked the most distorted.
additionally i noticed my smile would only go so far. seems like the facial expression capabilities of the mirror were limited.
eventually i opened a door and the interior of the new room was poorly defined at which shortly after i woke up.
